Romantic movies are hugely responsible for the idea that love is being swept off your feet, meeting someone and just knowing they are the one. But I now fully attribute those high expectations to witnessing, and having the privilege to film that kind of romance. This quintessentially English wedding with an old Hollywood glamour twist saw Han & Richard celebrate at Claridge’s, the absolute epitome of elegance and luxury.

Emma & Tannah >> Yorkshire

What an explosive fun filled and energetic day this was. You can see how Emma and Tannah really bounce off each other’s energy, two “partner’s in crime”. A personalised outdoor ceremony by the river, conducted by the bride’s brother and a party that started underneath a beautiful Papakata Sperry tent, even before the guests were seated, waving napkins in the air. Natalya & David >> Sezincote, The Cotswolds

East meets west at this modern Jewish wedding with Hong Kong style influences to celebrate each of the Bride and Groom’s heritage. If that wasn’t multicultural enough, it takes place at an Indian inspired venue in the English countryside. No detail was missed with planning and styling from Liz Linkleter Events and we’re thrilled to have been featured on Junebug weddings.

Chris & Emma >> Merchant Taylor’s Hall, London

Chris can certainly hold a room when he speaks. You could feel the support in the room as he spoke about him and Emma meeting in AA and how far they have come to recover. What strikes you is his respect and adoration for his bride, as they stand in the grand St Bartholomew’s the Great and in walks Emma, again, but this time it couldn’t be more different.

Roshy & Adam >> Home, Dorking

The structure of this narrative needed extra attention, as I had two very different styles, visually and culturally to marry together. It was important to use the ambient sounds of the dhol drummers and cheers but to also keep it modern and non-traditional like the couple themselves. Weaving Adam’s self-depreciating and comedic speech into a calm ceremony and romantic cut-aways, with a soundtrack which was a blend of the three bands, was intricate but it savored every element that went into making a day that represented them so fully.

Simon & Laura >> Home, Leicestershire

From the moment they met, they had to navigate life’s ups and downs. Laura and I wanted to find a way to pay tribute to her late father in her wedding video, without it being too melancholy. We filmed her opening a letter her Father wrote for her to open on her wedding day but ultimately decided to keep this as a separate edit from the main film. I’m happy to say the final film balanced the tribute with celebration. Their response on first viewing was “it’s perfect, it’s so us. The car is so nice. so glad we did that. The dancing at the end is amazing. It’s perfect”.

Jane & Matt >> Bath

They married at Stone Eastern Park Hotel, where Jane grew up, as her parents managed the hotel. On this day, they walked through the very same wooded area of the grounds that Jane used to hold tea parties for her toys and the beauty and romance of a childhood here was not lost on me. Jane’s father passed some years back, so perhaps this venue was a way of including him and their memories as a family together, memories you can see celebrated in the book Jane gives her mother during her bridal prep.

Arron & Sophie >> Swindon

These two had so much disruption and uncertainty surrounding their day during the pandemic. They got there in the end, with the announcement that small weddings may take place, just the week before. This made it all the more emotional, to see loved ones all gathered and have a little unofficial dance together.

Mahie and Kat >> Ashbarton Estate, Devon

I long to be back in the presence of Mrs & Mrs Kemp, basking in the abundance of their warmth and joy. There’s something about the mighty tree that has witnessed many marriages under its branches that makes this day feel like it’s part of a bigger love story, if there were such a story, bigger than this love match.

Katelyn & Rob >> Cotwolds

This is the story of a transatlantic love. The daughter of an American film producer fell for an English gentleman and they wed in an idyllic walled garden. So it seems fitting then that the film starts like and old Hollywood movie and blooms into the colours of the Cotswold countryside.

Rachel & Max >> Mapperton House and Gardens

This dreamy daisy filled, outdoor celebration, couldn’t be ruined by the downpour in the middle of the ceremony. As a videographer, my instinct is to go with it and weave it into the story when things don’t go quite to plan.

Ariane & Ryan >> Aynhoe Park

Modern elegance is how I would describe this wedding. A blessing at the church, followed by Swedish songs sung at a rainbow dinner table, which is a must see.

Helena & Sam >> Home, Nottingham

Against the backdrop of a little village in Autumn, Helena and Sam recount the story of their meeting at university and how they always knew this day was in their future. “18 year old cringe me is still inside there somewhere, just chuffed to bits”.

Rina & David >> Fitzrovia Chapel

Sometimes wedding days can be challenging purely from a video perspective, whether that be rain on equipment, a lack of light in the winter or acoustics. But there’s always magic to be found, particularly in rain! I knew how important the two band performances were to R & D and we really wanted to find a way incorporate the live recording from when Rina walked down the aisle, performed by Little White Lies. Initially I felt you could tell that it’s a mono with an echo from the chapel and a few coughs from guests. I mixed the track with many layers of traffic, rain sounds and suddenly I had an edit that felt true to their experience of their wedding day. To me the echo made it feel like an old found recording. So followed the vintage video aesthetic to open the film, before transitioning into colour. I also knew how incredibly close Rina was to her mother, so it seemed fitting to have her introduce the film.

Debra & Max >> Sezincote, The Cotswolds

As featured on the international blog 100 Layer Cake, Debra and Max's Cotswold wedding at the stunning 4,500 acre Sezincote Estate was brought to life by visionary planner Liz Linkleter. A flower adorned staircase by Palais Flowers, autumnal romance and plenty of joyous Israeli dancing were just some of the highlights.

Chris & Gemma >> Barbican Centre

In this love story there are three characters. Bride, Groom and the Barbican. Chris and Gemma fell in love with the 80’s architecture and the stunning palm packed boltanical conservatory, where they held their ceremony. They wanted something modern and this trailer was inspired by the style of their day and the sense of space. Their Short Film Collection edit features their vows and plenty of their guests.

Rachel & Carl >> Institute of Contemporary Art & London Pride

The grooms words are everything in this teaser trailer... "I admire your capability to make something beautiful out of almost nothing." Rachel and Carl are a couple how claim not to be “lovey dovey” but actually they have no idea how romantic filming them actually was, because it was the truest form- a romance not based on date nights but on supporting each other to achieve their dreams, set in multiple countries.

Jenny & Pete >> Noss Mayo, Devon

Autumn in this windy creek, scattered with wooden row boats, is best watched with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate- two things that were part of their day. It wasn’t all cosy relaxation though, as the guests congaed through the streets to the reception. Jenny and Pete were married in a church with no roof, by Pete’s mother, which made it all the more special. See their full video over on the Feature Film Collection page.

Jess & Lucy >> London

I am a romantic but I’ve always wondered about ‘the one’. There’s something romantic in choosing a person, rather than it chooses you. However, these two hijack my realistic outlook on life and make me believe in soul mates. Their love is pure and true and was celebrated in a derelict chapel, lit with candles and light shafts through the stained glass.

Tracy & Ben >> Aynhoe Park

This unique venue is filled with endless artifacts that it’s easy to get carried away. However, the balance of light-hearted fun and taxidermy must be kept. This balance was continued throughtout the celebrations with chinese traditions and an English countryside setting.

Justin & Suzannah >> St Paul's Cathedral

This Highlights edit is a snippet of this couples royal-esque central London wedding and is pure indulgent romance in black and white. We know that the ceremony and guests are very important to our couples and included in this couple’s Feature Film Collection is a longer full feature edit in colour, with plenty of the ceremony, guests and reception. It was so interesting to capture the juxtaposition of this couples anti-romance, jokey nature and their formal, romantic wedding.

Annie & Nat >> Kent

Their future was written, 10 years ago. Literally. From a high school crush to “more than staying in touch”. Decade old love letters lead the romantic story of their day, set in a small Kent village, with scatterings of joyous and Morris dancing. The groom’s words will give you goose bumps!

Lindsey & Chris >> Calke Abbey

Two people with truly the biggest hearts that deserve all the happiness that you can see in this film, just radiating out of them. This venue was a stunning setting for their love story, being a National Trust estate. They married in the stables which is a far cry from its origins with white brick walls and huge floaty draping curtains.

Laura & Dave >> Longton Wood

Laura had an image of ‘Rob Hood, Prince of Thieves’ when planning her wedding. She certainly made a beautiful maid Marian and marry‘im she did. (Sorry.) The film starts off with the tranquility of nature but quickly is over taken by the boundless energy they have. The birds tweeted over their wedding vows, they had speeches amongst the ferns and bracken, the fire pit was lit, they congaed down the forest path and boogied to the banjo band.

Andy & Freya >> Kew Gardens, London

Andy and Freya wowed their guests with such a setting for their wedding, taking them on a tour of the beautiful grounds. There is something uniquely beautiful about a couple in love, amongst the tropical plants, in the middle of a glass green house.

Susannah & Robbie >> The Union Club, London Soho

A super relaxed, intimate wedding, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of London's busy soho district. Pure reportage filming.

Actually filmed in London, we had some fun with stop motion animation and transported ourselves to Thailand.
